Havre de Grace A Piece of Beauty In The Obeah

Havre de Grace settled in second place shortly after the race began to insure that Sarah’s Song, who was setting the pace as usual, didn’t get too big a lead and slow the pace down. Havre de Grace didn’t have any help with speed in the race. She had to keep Sarah’s Song honest. Gabriel also didn’t want to let her get him into a speed duel which could set it up for a big close from the tough Tiz Miz Sue. She was never hurried and as they approached the quarter pole she edged easily into the lead. Gabriel gave her a hand ride throughout. It was a piece of beauty. She won easily by a little over two lengths. Hopefully, this will set her up for The Delaware Handicap on July 16th. She will face some very tough competition in this race as it is a Grade 11 for $750,000.00. Great job by Larry’s team today and a perfect ride by Saez.
